Poetry and music event for Hill of Tara
The ninth annual Feis Teamhra/A Turn at Tara, which features readings and performances by internationally-recognised Irish writers and musicians, will be held between 3pm and 5 o’clock on Sunday 28 August in the Visitors’ Centre on the Hill of Tara.
Guests over the years have included Kevin Barry, Eavan Boland, Paul Brady, Cormac Breatnach, Steve Cooney, Anne Enright, Peter Fallon, Len Graham, Hugo Hamilton, Seamus Heaney, Laoise Kelly, Michael Longley, Colum McCann, Sinéad Morrissey, Paul Murray, Padraigin Ni Uallachain, Iarla O’Lionaird, Declan O’Rourke and Colm Toibín.
This year, organisers are delighted to welcome Paula Meehan, the outgoing Ireland Professor of Poetry, and the author of six collections of verse and several plays.
Also joining them will be Joseph O’Connor, the author of eight novels and the Frank McCourt Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Limerick.
Musical guests include The Lost Brothers, featuring Oisín Leech and Mark McCausland, and the great fiddler and Frames member, Colm Mac Con Iomaire.
The event is organised by Susan McKeown and Paul Muldoon and supported by Poetry Ireland. All are welcome and admission is free.
