Meath to face Offaly

Meath will play Offaly in the Leinster MFC final at Croke Park on Sunday, 20th July. Offaly beat Wexford in the semi-final at Wexford Park on Wednesday night (9th July) by 0-9 to 0-2. The wet conditions and a strong wind left it difficult for both teams, but Offaly were ahead by 0-5 to 0-1 at the interval and battened down the hatches against the wind. "Meath beat a good Longford team in the semi-final and they also knocked out a strong Dublin side in the quarter-final," commented Offaly manager Declan McGovern to the Meath Chronicle. "They also gave Tyrone a good game in the Ulster MFL final while we only got here through the back door, I'd say that would make Meath favourites to win," he added.
