Mr P McKenna, Trim

The regretted death occurred on 22nd June last, of Patrick (Pa) McKenna, Sarsfield Avenue, Trim, at Our Lady"s Hospital, Navan. Mr McKenna (76) worked as a steel worker and played hurling and football for Trim. He joined the FCA and emigrated to Manchester in the 1950s where he remained for 46 years. He was a fanatical supporter of Manchester City, following them for over 57 years until his death. A great Meath fan, he returned to Ireland for their All-Ireland wins in 1987,1988,1996 and 1999. His other passion was horse racing where he put on a bet everyday and was quite successful. He had a wonderful wealth of knowledge and could speak on any given subject. He returned to Trim in 1998 and lived with his sister Rosaleen. Mr McKenna is survived by his brother Christopher, nephews, nieces, sister-in-law, cousins and dearest friends Martina and Dosh. His remains were removed to St Patrick"s Church, and funeral took place to Mount Jerome Cemetery.
