Confusion at the conclusion

There was confusion at the conclusion of Sunday"s A FL Div 1 game between Dunboyne and Wolfe Tones as many supporters believed that hosts Dunboyne had won before referee Brendan Darby declared a draw. Wolfe Tones looked on course for an easy win when they stretched their 0-9 to 1-4 interval advantage to six points after the resumption. That win looked set to be a formality when Paul Watters was sent off for Dunboyne, but with David Gallagher, Gary Watters, Aidan O"Connor, Stephen Moran (two frees) and Gerry Gallagher on target Dunboyne thought they had moved ahead. Wolfe Tones struck another point four minutes into injury-time, but when Moran followed that with his sixth point most believed Dunboyne had snatched victory.
