Baker attempts to live up to name
Trim-based singer songwriter Don Baker is one of the celebrities that has been taking part in the new RTE reality tv series 'Failte Towers". Presented by Aidan Power, and Baz Ashmawy, one of Michael Hayes" co-presenters in 'How Low Can you Go?", the line-up includes singer Michelle Heaton, presenter Brian Dowling, 'The Apprentice" star Jennifer Maguire and Green MEP Patricia McKenna, weather reporter Evelyn Cusack, Page 3 model Claire Tully, TG4 match commentator Sean O"Domhnaill, Eurovision 2005 contestants Donna and Joseph McCaul, R & B singer Luke Thomas, RTÉ Radio 1 DJ John Creedon, and 'House Hunters" presenter Liz O"Kane. The show will see the 13 celebrities left to their own devices to run a hotel for 16 days as they cook twice daily meals, run a fully functioning bar, provide 24-hour room service and tend to guests in Bellingham Castle Hotel, Co Louth. A panel of judges - former presenter and hotelier Bibi Baskin, Sammy Leslie from Castle Leslie, and Michelin-starred chef Derry Clarke - along with the viewing public will decide who stays and who is sent packing in the show"s nightly evictions. The show will culminate in a grand finale on Sunday 17th August, where one person will be named the 'Fáilte Towers" winner. The show will have nightly evictions, with the whole competition in aid of charity. In the past week, the celebrities have been on location in Fáilte Towers itself for a training course, receiving tutorials in the kitchen, as well as crash-courses on everything from housekeeping to front-of-house etiquette.
