Floods drama after relentless rain

A number of houses in the Kentstown and Balrath areas of Meath were flooded last week after heavy rain continued to fall. Several roads were also rendered impassable, including the N2 near Balrath, roads in the Skryne/Walterstown area, at Donore and Rosnaree, Slane. With further rain forecast for later this week and the weekend, and with several rivers swollen and land already saturated, local people are being warned to be particularly vigilant while on the roads and to check if routes are open before they begin their journey.
