Local band wired up for Electric Picnic

Large Mound will play two gigs on Saturday 23rd August, in preparation for their appearance at the Electric Picnic the following weekend. At 1pm on Saturday, Large Mound will play an in-store gig in Tower Records, Wicklow Street, Dublin and later that night at 11.30pm they"ll play at Psychotic Reaction club in the Crawdaddy, Harcourt Street, Dublin with band The Bonnevilles from Lurgan. Admission is €10/14. Anthony Mackey, guitar and vocalist, from Dunshaughlin says that: 'We"re still very much promoting our latest album 'My Whole Life Is Have To" and we"re still hitting parts of Ireland for the first time. 'The Electric Picnic feels like a good mental end to the promotion of that album. Then we"ll bring the music that Mark Jordan and I we"ve been writing individually to the band and get stuck back into writing mode. Which is a probably the part I most enjoy. 'We have more than an album"s worth of stuff but we"ll see what happens once we get working on it'. The band also includes Ratoath"s Mark Jordan, guitar and vocals, Hugh McCabe, bass, and Eric Stover, drums. Large Mound will play the Electric Picnic on the Saturday 30th August at around 2pm on the Little Big Stage. - Denis Finegan.
