Two escape injury in light aircraft crash

Two people escaped injury when their light aircraft, a two-seater plane, made an emergency landing at Kilmurray, close to Trim Airfield, on Wednesdayafternoon, 20th August, at 2.25 pm. The pilot of the Piper PA 28 was forced to make an emergency landing 250 metres from the airfield, near the Trim-Navan road, when the engine stalled just after take-off. Emergency services were requested to attend as a precautionary measure, and the male and female occupants were not seriously injured. They were taken to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan, where they were later discharged. Investigators from the Department of Transport's Air Accident Investigation Unit are carrying out an examination of the plane and scene.
