'Boil Water' notices lifted

Meath County Council has lifted the precautionary 'Boil Water' Notice recently implemented on the Athboy and Moynalty public water schemes. The directive was issued following the weekend's flooding of the well heads by the Yellow Ford River in Athboy and the River Borora in Moynalty. "Meath County Council wish to advise all consumers that the precautionary Boiling Water Notice recently implemented on the Athboy and Moynalty public water schemes is no longer required," the local authority issued in a statement. Kildalkey and Rath Cairn were affected by the Athboy scheme directive. The council was awaiting results of tests on the water schemes. "Meath County Council would like to thank consumers for their understanding and assistance at this time," the statement continued.
