M3 Tara campaigners should move on

Dear sir - Is there any chance that the 'Save Tara" people might give us all a rest from the constant bleating about the building of the M3? We have news this week that Howley, one of the companies involved in the M3 project, is going belly-up. The protesters circle like vultures, pecking at the NRA, hoping that there might be more casualities. Yes, it would have been a better option to have built a railway line from Dublin city centre to Kells but it didn"t happen and it is unlikely to happen for many years. Meanwhile, the M3 is now almost half-way to completion. It is time to move on. In a couple of years Meath will have an impressive piece of infrastructure but more importantly, we will have a safer road for commuters. The Hill of Tara will still be intact and maybe it might even benefit from the new motorway as it will be easier and quicker for potential visitors to get there. I appreciate that the Tara campaigners feel strongly about this subject but surely there are many other more serious issues in this world more deserving of this level of campaigning energy? Right now, as part of the M3 project, there is an impressive-looking bridge being built beside the Fairyhouse roundabout; I think it"s time for the protestors to get over it! Yours , John Reilly, Maelduin, Dunshaughlin.
