Meath Youth Theatre at Ratoath
Teenagers aged from 14 to 17 spent a fortnight at The Venue, Ratoath, this summer learning the craft of the stage as the county council"s latest arts initiative, Meath Youth Theatre, got under way. The students were taken through the hoops of playing, writing and learning about sound, lighting, acting and production before they showcased their new talents on stage at the Venue. The new project was launched by the council"s Arts Office with the support of The Venue and the National Association for Youth Drama. It was organised by local director Delphine Coudray and Brian Murray, who aim to promote it still further throughout September and offer a regular outlet for young people wishing to explore the different facets of theatre production.
