Nominations close this week for inaugural Meath Marketing Awards

The closing date is looming for the inaugural Meath Marketing Awards which will culminate in a glittering black tie ball in Trim later this year. Nominations for the awards must be received by 5pm this Friday, 5th September at the offices of Meath Tourism, County Hall, Railway Street, Navan. Meath is the first county in Ireland to host this type of marketing awards event that acknowledges the standard and level of marketing knowhow in the county. The 16 categories are open to all businesses and not just tourism interests. While there are some tourism-specific categories, other business sectors are not excluded. The awards trophies have been hand-carved by award-winning Meath wood-turner Seamus Cassidy from individual pieces of wood. Meticulous attention to detail has gone into the creation of each piece to ensure each winner of a Meath Marketing Award receives a a piece of art as unique as their contribution is to marketing in Meath. The event, on 6th November in Trim"s elegant Knightsbrook Hotel & Golf Resort, is being judged independently with a judging panel comprising of representatives from Failte Ireland, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Hotel Sales, Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and NUI Maynooth. The awards will remain a closely-guarded secret until they are announced from sealed envelopes on the evening. The evening will be hosted by glamorous RTE news anchor Sharon Ni Bheolain. There will be prizes for 'best dressed lady" and 'best groomed man" will be presented at the top of the evening and 'style spotters" will be present among the audience. Following the awards, live music will bring the evening into the early hours to allow all the winners to celebrate their achievements. Each business can enter as many categories as they wish and individuals can also nominate a company or individual if they have enjoyed a quality experience. Nomination forms are available from the offices of Meath Tourism or from www.marketingideas.ie or telephone (046) 909 7060.
