O"Mahony"s aim for €4 million sale

Navan O"Mahony"s GAA club is hoping to realise at least €4 million from the sale of a roadside piece of its property at Brews Hill, Navan. Currently part of the club grounds, the football club intends selling 1.5 acres of the playing pitch and surrounds and moving the pitch further back. Smith Harrington is auctioning the property on Tuesday 30th September, at its Bridge Street, Navan, salesroom. The property is located in an area that is zoned land use objective B1: 'to protect and enhance the special physical and social character of the existing town centre and to provide for new improved town centre facilities and uses" in the Navan Town Development Plan, 2003-2009. The general objectives of this designation are to provide for town centre facilities to include a wide variety of uses. B1 zones are intended to accommodate the majority of new commercial and retail uses. Under Objective B1, acceptable uses include offices, retail, financial institutions, cash and carry, health centre or licensed premises, with many more uses open for consideration. Brews Hill is a central location in the town connecting with Trimgate Street, Railway Street and Cannon Row. The site, set in a commercial area, is located close to the centre of town, Our Lady"s Hospital and Pairc Tailteann. This is a prime site and the best in town, according to the agents.
