Late Conway goal saves Trim Celtic
Trim Celtic collected a point from their Meath & District Premier League visit to Ardee where a goal from each team in injury-time provided an exciting finish. Paul Gilsenan gave Trim Celtic an interval lead which made amends for Paul Campbell"s penalty miss. The hosts came out stronger in the second-half and forced an equaliser before the Ardee "keeper made a fine double save from Campbell and Paddy Peppard. The home side took the lead, but Trim got back on terms through David Conway. Best for Trim Celtic were Aaron Newman and Gilsenan. The Navan men played some enterprising football and were on the mark through Rastislav Jokel in each half, Barry Newman and Stewart Garry for a comprehensive victory. John D Smith"s goal left Kells / Blackwater still in contention when they trailed 1-2 at the break, but after the resumption Cosmos strolled to victory. The concession of two first-half goals left BMC with a mountain to climb and while Martin Souinski"s goal did give them hope their efforts fell short.
