Superstars of wrestling keep young Meath fans on edge of their seats

Ratoath"s Venue Theatre was packed to the rafters on Saturday as young fans flocked to see 'Wrestlemania," the superstars of American wrestling. The Venue was transformed into an exciting fighting arena for some of the biggest names in wrestling, including Jap Ninja, Scottish Joe and The Hustler, who produced thrills and the spills aplenty in what was billed as the biggest wrestling event outside of Dublin and Belfast. The excitement was intense and the audience, which was largely made up of young boys, were kept on the edge of their seats as their heroes and villains squared up to each other. There was strong support in the audience for Jap Ninja, while Scottish Joe proved highly unpopular and was booed throughout his fights. Of course, there was absolute delight when the audience hero, Jap Ninja, emerged triumphant. The event proved so popular that Wrestlemania has agreed to return to The Venue next year. It wasn"t the first time that wrestling came to the area. Back in 1982, the Ratoath Parents" Association staged a professional wrestling event in Ashbourne in order to raise funds towards building a community centre in Ratoath. The funds raised from that wrestling event all those years ago helped to build the community centre in Ratoath. The wrestling game has changed completely since then and Saturday"s event was much more colourful and action-packed with the wrestlers more athletic and high-flying and very much a part of the glitzy world of showbusiness.
