Dunboyne"s Sinead jets off to Miss World

Dunboyne beauty, Sinead Noonan, will jet off to South Africa this weekend to compete in the Miss World pageant, the final of which takes place next month. The former student of St Peter"s College in Dunboyne stole the show at the Miss Ireland finals in June and hopes are high of success for her in South Africa. While she isn"t considered a front-runner for the international competition, she was a rank outsider when she beat off competition from some 37 other beauties to claim the Miss Ireland crown. Sinead (21), who moved to Dunboyne with her parents at the age of eight, was convinced by her mum to enter the Miss Meath competition. She has admitted to having felt a little overwhelmed at her Miss Ireland win at first, with photoshoots, interviews and appearances taking over her schedule. However, the win has helped her to complete her modelling portfolio, and she is now being represented by the Compton Model Agency. Sinead has already landed a number of modelling jobs and hopes to dedicate the rest of this year to building her modelling career. She is the face behind Lipsey"s Autumn/Winter 2008 Collection and recently featured in an eight-page fashion shoot for RSVP magazine. Sinead has completed an acting course at the Gaiety School of Acting, but plans to go back for her teaching qualification once things settle down. She hopes to teach speech and drama, perhaps someday running her own drama school. She also plans to cut her acting teeth here in Ireland and to get used to the drama industry, but hopes to spread her wings someday. The Dunboyne 21-year-old is confident about competing in Miss World and is looking forward to representing her country. She sees it as a chance of a lifetime, which very few girls will ever experience.
