Navan discount retail park plan

An application for the county"s first discount retail park, to be located on the site of the old Navan Greyhound Track at Trim Road in Navan, is expected to be lodged with Meath County Council this week. The plans include the opening of a Lidl discount retail store in the park, the first venture in Navan by the German discount giants. The planning application for the 7,022 square metres discount retail park at Trim Road, Navan, is to be lodged with the council by Tyneham Ltd, a management company for the site owners, Duignan & McCarthy/Davy Stockbrokers. The Lidl concern earlier this year lodged an application for the site but this was withdrawn later. The unit proposed then was 2,000 square metres in size. Discount fashion will be the other major feature of the retail park, it is expected. The multi-million euro development will provide 70 to 80 jobs during construction and 250 when in full operation.
