Robinstown advance in Kilmessan Shield
After the frost cleared on Sunday Robinstown and Kells Celtic played out an entertaining Kilmessan Shield tie which produced seven goals. Robinstown were the form team for 90 minutes and were worthy of a place in the next round. The host club hit the front when Ronan Cooke swept the ball into the box from a corner kick and Paul Bartley finished with some style. Alan Watters and Dean Brennan added further goals to put Robinstown 3-1 up at the break. After the resumption Bartley added to his tally before Lemore Nicholls tagged on a fifth. Boca Rovers scored midway through the first half for an interval lead. However, Knightsbrook hit back when Anthony Craig crossed for Michael Tyndall to head home. Shortly before the end winger Cillian Ryan was fouled in the box and Craig swept home the spot-kick to secure the win.
