Extension contract for St Peter"s College signed
Work will begin shortly on the extension to St Peter"s College, Dunboyne, following the signing of contracts last week. This final phase of development in St Peter"s will bring together five previous phases of construction, built over a 13-year period. It is one of only three post-primary school projects to get the go-ahead in the recent announcement made by the Minister for Education, Batt O"Keeffe. St Peter"s College is one of the biggest schools in the country with 1,150 pupils on its roll. It is also the mother school for Dunboyne College of Further Education, which now has 250 students attending. At last week"s signing, the main contractors, Midland Construction, were represented by their managing director, Mark Kerrigan, while chief executive officer Peter Kierans was there on behalf of Meath VEC. St Peter"s College opened in September 1994 with an enrolment of 75 first year students and has grown rapidly over the past 14 years.
