Kells 'Guys and Dolls" night for Temple Street

A GATHERING of talented actors is anticipated in Kells on 27th December when the Headfort Arms Hotel hosts a 'Guys & Dolls Ball" in aid of Temple Street Children"s Hospital"s Michael C Ward and the two transplant suites there. The fundraising event was launched by Jody and Eimer Devine, whose daughter Lana has undergone a successful kidney transplant there, and Nat Nicholson, who has had two kidney transplants and has been treated in Temple Street for many years. The transplant suites at Temple Street allow patients to convalesce after an operation and provide facilities for their parents to stay. The Christmas Ball in the Headfort Arms Hotel has adopted a 'gangsters" theme which should add some fun to the night. If you enjoyed the Sopranos or loved the glamour of the 1920s, tickets are still available from the hotel reception but are going fast. Who"s Who provide the music and there will be a chance to try a hand of black jack. The night kicks off with champagne reception and it"s all available at a credit crunching €70. It is hoped that this great festive night out will help to purchase some urgently required equipment for the renal unit in the hospital where so many children have been treated through the years. Contact (046) 924 0063 for tickets.
