Tommy Tiernan's sell-out Bovinity Tour available now on DVD

The PR material for Tommy Tiernan"s new DVD, 'Bovinity" describes it as 'as dangerous and edgy as ever, a sneak peak at the inside of Tommy Tiernan"s head.' We all know, from his TV appearances and gigs over the years, that what goes on inside the Navan comedian"s head is not conventional. And it is certainly no different in 'Bovinity", the DVD of his tour of the same name, described as 'barking mad, brilliant and hysterical as ever' by The Gazette in Montreal . The record breaking outrageous Bovinity Tour played to more than 120,000 people from Letterkenny to Killarney, including an incredible 56 nights in Vicar Street in Dublin. The tour culminated in three sold out shows in The Marquee in Cork. This one man show captures Tiernan in a playful theatrical mood, dressed like a Miami wino he is working to the premise that ' the essence of comedy is a moving away from respectability.' Nobody escapes in Tiernan"s sketches, from 'gay itinerants in space" to those injured in motorbike accidents, while it finished up with 'a whole load of stuff about sex and drink." Other clips from around the country include 'Goat Mayo", 'Dancing Longford", 'Racist", Zoom Cork", 'Navan Man" and News of the World", where he has a go at the tabloids for having a go at his jokes. Although no publicity is bad publicity, as his ticket sales show. But be warned - the Bovinity DVD is not family viewing! The gig was filmed live at The Marquee in Cork, directed by Maurice Linnane who has worked with U2, Tom Waits and The Foo Fighters and features a collage of some of the best nights from the Irish tour. Bovinity is the first ever indigenous Irish release on Blu-ray. And if your first language isn"t English the whole show is subtitled in Irish and Polish.
