Cameo TV appearance for Distractors

Backroom Sessions regulars Distractors will make a cameo appearance on teen series 'Aisling"s Diary" on RTE on Christmas Day. In the special holiday episode Karl and Andy make their acting debut and the band perform the lead track from their new ep which be launched on 6th February. In 2008, Distractors have gone from strength to strength, with the release of their second single 'Conversation Killer", enjoying rave reviews and attracting influential admirers. Distractors were twice selected as featured artist on X-fm"s Uploaded show and their debut single 'Last Stand" and forthcoming track 'Targets (Television)" is featured on Cannes-nominated 'Aisling"s Diary". In their first six months as a gigging band Distractors bagged themselves an invitation to SXSW, some high profile support slots with The Rumble Strips, Client, and Air Traffic. In 2008 they maintained a heavy gigging schedule with sold out headline shows, not to mention their now legendary gig with Toyko Police Club where they were accused of stealing the show. In October, Mancunian heroes The Charlatans invited Distractors to support them in the Irish leg of their current tour. Distractors followed up this tour with a rocking support slot with Cold War Kids. Amidst all this, Distractors still found time to entertain their loyal fan-base from the comfort of their own mouse pads when they podcast performances of new material from the intimate surrounds of their home studios Monkey Clock Studios on their myspace page. Their cameo appearance is on 'Aisling"s Diary" on RTE2 at 11.40am on Christmas Day. Distractor"s New Year plans include making their debut album and a nationwide tour in February and March 2009.
