Comedy acts for Kells and Navan
Kells may not always be the most cheerful looking of places, but it is going to attempt to lift the national gloom and doom by hosting a comedy festival at the end of February, when the biggest names in Irish comedy will appear in various venues in the town. From Friday 27th February to Sunday 1st March, Ardal O"Hanlon, Kevin Gildea, Jason Byrne, Colin Murphy, MC Andrew Stanley, Eleanor Tiernan, and Des Bishop will be playing in the Headfort Arms or the Railway Bar, while there is a charity comedy open mike in the Arches on Sunday. Meanwhile, on Friday 30th January, The Backrooms at The Lantern Bar in Navan, hosts David McSavage. McSavage has played all over the English speaking world and sells out his entire run at the Edinburgh Festival every year. He has played the Kilkenny Cat Laughs and Aspen comedy festivals, and he is one of the main draws at the Electric Picnic and Carlsberg Comedy Carnival every year. Last year he headlined the comedy stage at the Oxegen Festival. He has sold out Vicar Street and numerous other theatres and is a regular guest on The Late Late Show. Support act on the night will come from Tasha K and Keiran Lawless will be the MC.
