Kells hosts North Meath Tourism talk

Kells Chamber of Commerce and the Kells Heritage Centre will jointly host a North Meath Tourism/Networking Evening tomorrow night (Thursday) in the Kells Heritage Centre at 6.30pm. This year"s event will be preceded by a talk on 'The beauty of Meath Heritage" by Dr Conor Brady at 6.30pm. This talk is being held, courtesy of the Meath Adult Learners" Festival. The launch of the Kells Town Map will take place at 7.45pm and Kevin Kidney, general manager, Failte Ireland East and Midlands Region, will perform the ceremony. This will be followed by a 'get to know you" session, with tourism providers exhibiting their information and various restaurants providing tastings from their food and wine menus. Meanwhile, this year"s Kells Chamber Ball takes place in the Headfort Arms Hotel on 20th February and will feature a presentation ceremony for business achievement in seven categories. Damien Farrelly, 2FM DJ and MC, will announce the award winners and 'A Lifetime Achievement Award" will also be presented to one local business luminary during the course of the gala ceremony. The categories for the awards include 'Outstanding Small Business", 'Most Effective Marketing Initiative", 'Best Business Shopfront", 'Best Innovation in Business", 'Best Contribution To Business Development in the Town", 'The Community Spirit Award", the 'Chamber X-Factor Award" and the 'Lifelong Achievement in Business Award". In recognition of the tough economic times currently being faced, the Chamber has reduced the price of tickets this year to €75 each - down from last year"s price of €90 - and individual tickets or a table for 10 can be booked.
