Tranquil Castle setting for Coulter concert
On return from his current American tour, Phil Coulter will be in concert at Trim Castle Hotel at 8pm on Friday 20th February next, to perform songs from his many albums including 'Classic Tranquillity", 'Sea of Tranquillity" and 'The Songs I Loved So Well". With over forty years in the music business Coulter has achieved great success both writing songs and performing. The buzz of performing which he first experienced with 'Classic Tranquility" is still fresh for Coulter and has brought him all over the world. From the Royal Albert Hall to Carnergie Hall, from royal command performances to the White House, Coulter has performed for the great and the good. His many writing hits include 'Puppet on a String" sung by Sandy Shaw, 'Congratulations" sung by Cliff Richard and 'My Boy", which was recorded by Elvis Presley. Coulter and his partner Bill Martin also worked with The Bay City Rollers and Billy Connolly. However, Coulter has never forgotten his passion for Irish music, which he believes to be music for the soul. He worked with Planxty and the Furey Brothers writing such beautiful songs as 'The Town I loved So Well" and 'Sweet Sixteen". The concert will be a mixture from Coulter"s extensive repertoire and Trim Castle Hotel, situated in the shadow of the mystical Trim Castle, provides the perfect setting for the show.
