The sudden death, at the age of 77, of Mr Seamus Duff, Lobinstown, caused widespread sadness. A keen GAA man, he played football with Syddan, with whom he won Feis Cup and senior championships. A member of Meath junior and senior football teams, he won an All-Ireland JFC medal in 1952. Deceased was a member of the Rathkenny Boxing Club and won a county heavyweight championship in 1952. He had great pride in seeing the achievements of his sons Shay and Philip with the Syddan and Meath football teams. Mr Duff was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and is survived by his wife, Philomena; daughter, Frances; sons, Shay and Philip; grandchildren, Gary, Nicole and Shay, in-laws, JJ, Mandy and Karen; brothers, Tommy and Patsy; and other relatives and friends. The funeral took place from Holy Cross Church, Lobinstown, to the adjoining cemetery. Eamon McCabe, Kells The unexpected death of Mr Eamon McCabe, Carrick Street, Kells, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, was a cause of widespread sadness and regret. Aged 85, Mr McCabe had been a director of Arat Shoes Ltd, Kells, of which he was a founding director, up until 1990. Deceased had a great interest in sport, especially Gaelic football, and was a member of the 1947 Meath Junior All-Ireland winning football team. Mr McCabe was a regular visitor to Croke Park with his brother, Paddy. A member of Headfort Golf Club, he represented the club in competition on many occasions. Mr McCabe"s other great interest was politics, and at the time of his death, he was president of Kells Fianna Fail Cumann, members of which formed a guard of honour at his funeral. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, Mark; daughter, Maeve Caffrey; son-in-law, Peter Caffrey; grandsons, Eamon and Sean Caffrey; brother, Paddy, relatives and friends. The funeral took place from St Colmcille"s Church to St Colmcille"s Cemetery, Kells. May Kelly, Drumree The death of May Kelly, Pelletstown Cross, Drumree, on 12th February last, was the cause of widespread sadness and regret. Wife of the late Jack Kelly, who died in 1981, she was a member of the Blount family of Gaulstown, Drumree, and was aged 88 years. She is survived by her daughters, Ann Quinn, Pelletstown, Mary Quinn, Cannistown, Navan, and Terry McGovern, Culmullen; sons-in-law, Denis Quinn, Brendan Owens and Sean McGovern, and seven grandchildren. The funeral took place from St Martin"s Church, Culmullen, to Knockmark Cemetery. John Tully, Beauparc The regretted death occurred on 31st January last of Mr John Tully, Rathdrinagh House, Beauparc, the founder and owner of Tully Bookmakers. Aged 64, he built a very successful business from humble beginnings in Duleek in 1981, to a chain of 36 betting shops nationwide today. Deceased is recalled as a very considerate and generous employer and person to all, who made anybody and everybody feel at home in his company. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (nee McCahill); sons, David, Kevin and Paul, daughters, Carol and Emily; brother, Liam; sisters, Mary and Rose; grandchildren, Matthew, Abbey, Daniel, Katie, Rebecca, James and Jack; daughters-in-law; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral took place from the Church of the Nativity, Rosnaree, to Knockcommon Cemetery. A month"s memory Mass will take place in Rosnaree Church at 8pm on Wednesday 4th March. Margaret Stafford, Kilmainhamwood The death of Mrs Margaret Stafford, Robertstown, Kilmainhamwood, Kells, on Christmas morning, caused widespread sadness. Aged 75, she was a member of the Flood family of Kilbeg, and passed away at St Colmcille"s Nursing Home, Kells. Deceased is remembered as a devoted family person and a kind neighbour and friend who lived life to Christian values by helping, caring and giving to others. A wonderful cook and homemaker, her house always exuded warmth, welcome and hospitality. Mrs Stafford fought her final illness with courage and dignity. She is survived by her husband, Laurence; sons, Martin, Gerard, Justin, Patrick and David; daughters, Mary O"Donnell and Helen McGee; sisters, Sr Mary Flood, Ann Nangle, Cecilia Duffy; daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, neighbours and friends. The funeral took place from Kilbeg Church to the adjoining cemetery.
