Meath conquer Cavan
Meath warmed up for next week"s NFL Div 2 encounter with Laois when they defeated neighbours Cavan in a challenge at Pairc Tailteann on Thursday evening. At the interval Meath trailed by 0-6 to 0-8 before enjoying the better of the exchanges in the second-half. Cian Ward, who came on as a substitute, showed the way for the home side with five points while Joe Sheridan and Brian Farrell contributed two points apiece. Thomas Walsh, Caoimhin King, Rory Maguire and Stephen Bray also split the posts to help give the Royals their narrow win. Kevin Reilly was again absent as he continues his recovery from an injury that is likely to keep him on the sidelines for the next few weeks at least.
