Four Meath riders for Aintree showpiece
With former Aintree Grand National winning jockey Paul Carberry out of action for this year"s renewal of the event, it leaves four Meath jockeys to fly the flag. The quartet are Barry Geraghty and Robbie Power, who"ve both also visited the winners' enclosure there, Philip Carberry and Jason Maguire. Maguire, from Kilmessan, is riding top weight Cloudy Lane from the stable of Donald McCain junior, son of the trainer of Red Rum and Amberleigh House, Ginger McCain. Drumree"s Geraghty rides Golden Flight for UK trainer Nicky Henderson while Carberry the younger will be on board French bred Musica Bella. Robert Power will again partner the 2007 winner, Gordon Elliot"s Silver Birch. Tony Martin"s Patsy Hall is the fourth reserve.
