High School Musical in Navan next week

While 'High School Musical" is running in Dublin, Navan has the distinction of hosting the Irish premiere of its sequel, 'High School Musical 2" next week, when it is staged by the Meath Youth Musical Society in the Solstice Theatre from Tuesday 14th to Sunday 19th April. With a cast of over 40 from the four corners of Meath, Ashbourne, Ratoath, Slane, Trim, Navan and Kells are all represented in this production as they head to Lava Springs for a summer of music, dance, romance and teen rivalry. The production features all the hit songs from the movie including 'What time is it?", 'Fabulous", 'All for One," 'Work this Out", 'Bet on It" and lots more. The well known characters of Troy and Sharpay will be played by Ruairi O"Connor from Ashbourne and Danielle Williamson from Navan, with Katie Flanagan and Conor McIntyre from Trim and Dunboyne respectively as Gabriella and Ryan. Padraic Loughran, more recently Rooster in 'Annie" plays the part of the devious hotel manager Mr Fulton. All music tastes are catered for pop, rock, hip hop and swing with dance and strong acting by the very talented MYMS group. The production follows the group"s success with the original 'High School Musical" and 'Back to the 80s" and has the same director as the recent showstopping 'Annie", Gareth Mahony. The show is choreographed by Erin Kenny and Olivia Toman is the musical director. A full band is also featured and sets are by Enda Nugent . Tickets are now on sale. The show starts during the Easter Holidays from Tuesday 14th until Sunday 19th April at 8pm with matinee shows on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
