Horgan in line for BAFTA

Bellewstown comedy actor and writer Sharon Horgan is in line for a British Academy of Film and Television Award on Sunday night, for her performance in 'Pulling' on BBC Three. She faces opposition from Rob Brydon of 'Gavin and Stacey', David Mitchell of 'Peep Show' and Claire Skinner of 'Outnumbered' in BAFTA's Comedy Performance category. She was a nominee for the Best Female Comedy Newcomer in the British Comedy Awards 2007, for writing, and starring in, what the Observer described as 'standout Britcom', BBC 3's 'Pulling', which was also nominated for a BAFTA award. Horgan won the award for Best Television Comedy Actress at the British Comedy Awards last December. Her brother, Shane, is well-known as a Leinster and Irish rugby player. Update: The award went to David Mitchell for 'Peep Show'.
