Seneschalstown slump to surprise SFC defeat

Skryne and St Patrick's kicked off the second round of Meath SFC games with impressive victories over Walterstown and Seneschalstown respectively. Skryne followed up their impressive opening round victory over Dunboyne with a 2-10 to 0-10 win over Walterstown at Pairc Tailteann on Friday night. Brian Byrne netted twice for the winners who were level at the break 2-2 to 0-8. In Ashbourne on Friday night St Patrick's shocked Seneschalstown by claiming a 1-10 to 1-8 win. The Stamullen men led by 1-7 to 1-3 at the break. They were also boosted by the news that the Meath Hearings Committee overturned a decision by the Competitions Control Committee to award Simonstown the points after St Patrick's failed to fulfil their opening fixture. That game will be re-fixed.
