Search for talent of north east

Fiddlers Night Club in Carrickmacross has launched the 'Northeast"s Got Talent" competition with €10,000 in prize money. It is a search for the northeast"s next best talent act featuring singers, dancers, comedians, variety acts and any other talents from 16 years and over, and anyone who believes that they have talent is encouraged to audition. Actor George McMahon, who played Mondo in 'Fair City" recently launched the competition. Also joining the team over the next number of weeks are co-ordinators Nora Hegarty and director Gavin Quigley. 'We are hoping to have five nights of auditions narrowing the final figure down to around 15 to 20 acts,' Nora Hegarty said. The final acts will perform weekly over a period of weeks. Each week there will be resident judges along with a surprise guest. Gavin Quigley stressed how professionally run this competition will be. 'This is going to be as professional as it gets, and a great opportunity for everyone with the prize winnings of €10,000,' he stated. Interested acts can apply online at www.fiddlers.ie.
