Walk the line to Trim for Cash tribute band
The unique sounds and atmosphere once generated by the legendary Johnny Cash have been resurrected with such astonishing accuracy by the tribute band formed by two local Navan singers in his honour that they have become one of the classic recreation sets of its genre. Backed by an impressive stage set and flanked by two giant-size screens with appropriate costume dress to embellish the atmosphere, the spirit of the country and western legend continues to live on with the five piece band. Spawned by the McGarry brothers, Micheal and Seamus, the Johnny Cash tribute band has come off the back of the success of the hit movie that chronicled his life some years ago. Micheal captures the movement and vocals of the younger Cash a with impressive symmetry, belting out all the numbers, while Seamus encapsulates Cash"s chief sidekick Luther Perkins with his unique and raw sound on lead guitar. On drums, Tony Smyth is one of the most recognised faces in the business with a long history of involvement with a variety of bands. Donal Norton on piano has developed a reputation for his eclectic sound and is of the most adaptable musicians in the business. Dublin-based Mike Smith on stand-up double bass rekindles the visual impact of such an instrument, a cornerstone of the Cash glory days. During the night the Cash band will be joined by a special guest, 'June Carter", to capture the magical dynamic that only Cash and Carter together could create. They will perform on Sunday night next, 31st May, at Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim, with venue doors open at 9pm. The show kicks off at 10pm. Admission €15, payable at the door. Special accommodation price for B&B and show at the hotel is €55 per person sharing. Phone (046) 948 2100 for more information.
