Garth Brooks Tribute returns to Old Darnley for Independence Day

The Ultimate Garth Brooks Experience is returning to the Old Darnley Lodge Hotel in Athboy due to huge popular demand on Saturday 4th July. The show which has played to sold out audiences all over Ireland is fronted by Ballivor man Trevor Smith. Smith is a huge American country music fan and came up with the idea of forming a Garth Brooks tribute band with Trim musician Ken Gillick six months ago. Before that Smith and Gillick had performed as a two-piece act and were well established on the local music scene. Smith"s backing band is 'The Fever" and has Gillick on lead guitar. Athboy man David Arkins is on guitar, Dan Daly from Navan is drummer, Conor Mulhall from Mullagh is on keyboards, Westmeath man Pete Mulkearns plays the fiddle and Mick McDonald from Dublin is on bass guitar. The show consists of all the hits of American country music legend Garth Brooks who rose to fame worldwide in the early 1990s with his own brand of country music which spawned such classic songs as 'If Tomorrow Never Comes", 'Friends In Low Places", 'The Dance", 'Unanswered Prayers", 'Shameless" and many more. Smith says fans can expect a great show with all of Brooks" favourite songs featured. Doors open at 9pm on Saturday and tickets can be obtained for €20 at the hotel reception.
