Soccer marathon raises funds for Kells seniors

Kells Blackwater Football Club ran a recent soccer marathon fundraiser and gave a proportion of the proceeds raised to the Kells Senior Citizens" Christmas Party Fund. Sean Whelan, spokesperson for the Senior Citizens" Club in Kells, said they were delighted to receive such a generous donation and that it was the first of its kind. Dr Anne Reilly presented the cheque on behalf of Kells Blackwater FC. The soccer club hope to make this an annual donation and has extended thanks to all the senior citizens of Kells for their support of juvenile activities in the town.
