Subway creates 10 new jobs with Navan opening
Celebration was the order of the day last Friday afternoon when the Subway chain opened its new store in Navan Town Centre. Ten new jobs have been created at the store which is the 106th Subway to open in the Republic of Ireland. The new store is owned by entrepreneurs Jacinta Richardson and Mary Pidgeon, who also own and operate a store in Ashbourne. The businesswomen said that they were delighted to be heading the Subway chain"s expansion in Ireland. 'We considered a few locations for our second store. The opportunity to open the store in Navan Town Centre arose and it was the perfect fit. We are delighted to bring a Subway store to the people of the town,' Jacinta explained. 'Customers have a lot to look forward and we intend to give them what they want which is sandwiches made exactly the way they want, fresh in front of them. People also want value for money these days and that is exactly what we are going to offer the people of Navan,' she added. She went on: 'We know from the success of our store in Ashbourne that our subs are regarded as a healthy eating option. They are hugely popular with people who play sport and who want to grab something to eat on the way to or from the gym, football or exercise activities.' The new Navan operation says it expect to create another five new jobs over the coming months as people become more aware of the new store. The Subway chain is the world"s largest submarine sandwich franchise, with 31,226 locations in over 90 countries. Headquartered in Milford, Connecticut, it was co-founded by Fred DeLuca and Dr Peter Buck in 1965. That partnership marked the beginning of a remarkable journey, which has made it possible for thousands of individuals to build and succeed in their own business.
