The Tooth Fairy delivers

Local trainer Michael Mulvany, based at Oristown House, Kells, produced The Tooth Fairy to win another race yesterday. The Tooth Fairy and Gary Carroll, grandson of the legendary Frankie Carroll from Kildalkey, followed up on last month's success at Down Royal with another success at Tipperary on Saturday. Carroll had to negotiate plenty of traffic in the final furlong to hit the front in time for a one-length margin over the Harry Rogers-trained Fit The Cove in a seven-furlong handicap. Mulvany was delighted with the victory and confirmed that Galway would be a realistic target for the well-raced three-year-old which was winning for the third time in 17 starts. 'Hopefully we will get into the big seven-furlong handicap on the last day of the Galway Festival on Sunday, 2nd August,' commented the trainer. Mulvany racing is a family run business situated at Oristown which is between Navan and Kells. Michael Mulvany began training point-to-pointers in 2003 after he decided to expand on his breeding, breaking and pre-training business. Following that, he successfully applied for a flat and national hunt trainer's licence and currently trains on a 440-acre farm which incorporates an indoor sand arena and a all-weather woodchip gallop with an American-style barn with 20 loose boxes. Assisting in the business are Laurence, Larry and Anne Mulvany with James Murphy who has previously worked with Dermot Weld and Noel Meade.
