New mag celebrating Meath culture

A new magazine celebrating the arts, music and culture of Meath has been launched, with the clever title 'On|V'. The booklet is edited by Conor Heary and Ciara McKelvey and aims to "inspire, celebrate, and promote the immense amount of talent that has surrounded us for many years, that maybe we never took the time to notice." The debut issue celebrates the work of artist Henry McGrane, textile artist Jillian Gott, illustrator Aaron Brady and photographer Dominique Davoust, along with established musicians such as The Dolldrums, The Ambience Affair and Daniel Johnston. There are also gig reviews and a look back of the Oasis concert at Slane, as well as a globetrotter travel column. A launch party takes place in The Backroom at The Lantern on Friday night, 7th August, with admission €10 in aid of Aware. Art by Aaron Brady and Jillian Gott will be on display with music by The Dolldrums, and The Ambience Affair and Yertle.
