Jennie Commons, Enfield The regretted death recently occurred at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, of Mrs Jennie Commons, Posseckstown, Enfield. A member of the Tully family of Realtogue, Hayes, Navan, she also previously resided in Kells and Bohermeen. Mrs Commons was widow of the late Mr Laurence Commons, who died in 1977. Deceased is survived by her daughter, Ann Coffey, Enfield; son-in-law, Matt Coffey; grandchildren, Gerard Coffey, Enfield; Mark Coffey, Perth, Australia; Paul Coffey, Toronto, Canada; Claire Coffey, Enfield; David Coffey, Enfield, and Emma Coffey, Enfield; nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. The funeral took place from Jordanstown Church to Boyerstown Cemetery, Navan. Mel Chambers, Kilmessan Mr Mel Chambers, Kilmessan, who has died, was a draper on Trimgate Street, Navan, for many years, in the store Chambers and Rickard. Deceased was youngest son of the late John and Annie Chambers, Kilmessan, and his late brother, Sean, was a well-known performer on the local drama stage. Mr Chambers is survived by his brother, Aidan; and sister, Mary, relatives and friends. The funeral took place son 28th May last from the Church of the Nativity, Kilmessan, to the adjoining cemetery. Briget Lawless, Rathmolyon Mrs Briget Lawless (nee McGuinness), who passed away last Thursday, 6th August, after a short illness, was postmistress in Rathmolyon for over 60 years. Originally from Collinstown, Co Westmeath, Mrs Lawless was in her 94th year when she died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. She was predeceased by her husband, Larry, in 1983. Mrs Lawless came to work in Summerhill as a young girl and met her husband there. The couple settled in Rathmolyon where Mrs Lawless ran the local post office for over 60 years. She worked up until two years ago and had no problem working the technology that evolved over the years, including the National Lottery Lotto terminal and computer. Mrs Lawless loved to have a chat with the customers and was a very well-known and well-respected lady. Deceased is survived by her children, Martin, Catherine, Anne, Theresa, Larry, Peter, Pat and Elizabeth; her sister, Maureen; brother-in-law, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her remains were removed from McEvoy's Funeral Home, Trim, on Saturday evening to St Michael's Church, Rathmolyon, and burial took place following the Funeral Mass on Sunday to Kill Cemetery, Rathmolyon. Francis Geraghty, Kilbride The burial took place in Ratoath recently of Mr Francis (Martin) Geraghty, formerly of Kilbride, who was a member of the well-known showband, The Mighty Avons, in the 1970s. Mr Geraghty, of Cork Street, Dublin, was a very good singer and rhythm guitar player with the Cavan-based showband when it was fronted by Gene Stuart. He was with the band during Stuart's era of 1972 to '75, and remained with the Avons when Stuart moved on. His funeral took place from Kilbride Church to Ratoath Cemetery. Mary Dennis, Dunshaughlin One of Dunshaughlin's best-known characters was lost recently with the sudden passing of Mrs Mary Dennis, Main Street, at Heatherfield Nursing Home. Mrs Dennis (nee Drohan), is survived by her husband, William; son, Michael; sisters, Betty and Pauline; nieces, Julie, Patricia, Barbara and Dionne; brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends. The funeral took place from the Church of Ss Patrick and Seachnall, Dunshaughlin, to Dunshaughlin Cemetery, on 12th June last. Bridie English, Tara Mrs Bridie English, Ross, Tara, Dunsany, who died recently, was a member of the Moran family and a native of Dunsany. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene (Hughie); and is survived by her son, Jimmy; daughter-in-law, Ann; grandchildren, Michelle and Rebecca; relatives, neighbours and friends. Mrs Moran passed away at Park House Nursing Home, Kilcock. Her removal took place from St Colmcille's Church, Skryne, to the adjoining cemetery.
