The death occurred peacefully of Mr Seamus Reilly, O'Growney Terrace, Kells, at St Joseph's Hospital, Trim, following a long illness. Mr Reilly worked for over 23 years with the Southborough firm in Kells, and was also a very well-respected bar manager when he worked for many years in a number of family-owned businesses in Kells. In his younger years, he was a talented footballer who played for a number of clubs in the Kells area, including Drumbaragh, and Kilmainham, as well as Gael Colmcille in his native Kells. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend of many, who supported him through his illness. The removal took place from the family home to St Colmcille's Church, Kells, for the funeral Mass celebrated by Fr Liam Malone, CC, Kells, who spoke of Mr Reilly's steadfast faith. Family members took part in the ceremony and the coffin was draped in the Drumbaragh GFC colours as the remains were escorted by a club guard of honour from the church to St Colmcille's Cemetery, Kells. Deceased is survived by his wife, Ita; daughters, Samantha and Margo; son, Gerard; brothers, Patrick and Eddie; sisters, Theresa and Bridget; daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other relatives. ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Thomas Muldoon, Dromiskin & Kilskyre The death occurred in the Louth County Hospital, Dundalk, of Mr Thomas (Tommy) Muldoon, late of Milltown, Dromiskin, Co Louth, and formerly of Sarahstown, Kilskyre, Kells. The late Mr Muldoon attended national school at Kilskyre before moving to Dromiskin at the age of 14 to work for Lizzie Gibbons, a cousin of his mother's who ran a very busy general store at Milltown. He later took up employment with McCann's Bakery in Dundalk. His work took him all over the town and he was extremely popular with his customers, often going so far as to light fires for his elderly customers in the mornings. After eight years with McCann's, Mr Muldoon set up his own thriving takeaway business in Castlebellingham, Co Louth. He then worked for a time with Irish Pride before moving to O'Neill's Bakery, Annagassan. He was a great follower of the Meath GAA team, regularly travelling to Croke Park to cheer on his heroes. This led to great banter in the Muldoon household where the rest of the family followed Louth's fortunes. The funeral Mass for the deceased was celebrated in St Peter's Church, Dromiskin, by family friend Fr Mark O'Hagan. Burial took place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery, accompanied by the playing of his favourite song, 'Raglan Road'. Deceased is survived by his wife, Pearl; sons, Ciaran and Ronan; daughter, Shirli; mother, Nancy; grandson, Dylan Muldoon; Ciaran's partner, Ciara McCutcheon; brother, Paddy; sisters, Bridget Neville, Patsy Hynes, Mary Cluane, Kathleen Farrell and Anne Brown, and other relatives. He was predeceased by his father, Tom. ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Ron Bennett, Dunshaughlin Dunshaughlin Musical and Choral Society has paid tribute to its recently deceased member, Ron Bennett of College Park, saying they are mourning the loss of a favourite tenor. Mr Bennett will be sadly missed by all his choir friends. He passed away having lived a vibrant and energetic life in his adopted village. Mr Bennett first appeared in 'Calamity Jane' in 1984 and continued to tread the boards annually until 1996. He became a hilariously funny news reporter for 'Desert Song' in 1989, a hardened sailor for 'South Pacific' in 1991, and colonel at 'Fort Scully' in 1994. He did not confine his talents to stage performance only, as he contributed greatly to the artistic design and construction of scenery and also fulfilled the onerous task of treasurer for seven years. The society says that while it will miss Mr Bennett's smiling face and good humour, its thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Nancy, and family, at this time. ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Margaret Lynch, Rathfeigh Sadness was occasioned over a wide area following the death of Mrs Margaret (Margo) Lynch (nee McLoughlin), Bellew, Rathfeigh, who passed away at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, on 22nd July last.
