From Albert Square to Ludlow Street

Actress Kara Tointon, who plays Dawn Swann in 'Eastenders' will be winging her way to the Palace Nightclub in Ludlow Street, Navan, on Friday night next 28th August. Recently chosen as the new face of Michelle for George lingerie at Asda, the 26 year-old can't wait to get to Ireland for a well earned break. Kara is enjoying having more spare time after filming her last ever scenes as Dawn Swann in Eastenders in June, and viewers will see her final departure tomorrow (Thursday) 27th August, the night before her Palace appearance. Despite some tough storylines, Kara recently admitted that she is still sad about leaving Eastenders. She said: "I'm a real mixture of emotions. I'm very apprehensive. In a funny sort of way, when you're on a show like Eastenders, you're living a second life, you have a second family and you go to work in this little cocoon. I'm nervous, but also excited to do other things. I always planned to do two years at EastEnders, so to actually do four was great. It's time to move on." She is dating former Eastenders actor Joe Swash in real life and as well as landing new modelling assignments, Kara is also preparing to star alongside Joe in the pantomime production of 'Snow White' in Bristol at Christmas. She adds: "We are starring in panto together. I love singing and dancing so it's perfect. It'll be strange to work together again but we're looking forward to it." Palace manager Darren Kavanagh says: "We can't wait to have Kara at the club, especially as her story lines are red hot this week." He says they have had numerous cast members of 'Coronation Street', 'Emmerdale' as well as a host of other well known celebrities at the club, and Kara will be the first 'Eastenders' actress to join the list. TV3's 'Xpose' showbiz programme will also be filming the Navan event.
