Kara dons the green and gold at The Palace
'Eastenders' actress Kara Tointon became the latest celebrity to appear at the Palace Nightclub in Navan at the weekend, just as her TV persona was making a dramatic exit from the popular UK soap. Tointon, who plays Dawn Swann in the long-running BBC Albert Square drama, had to choose between fiancé Gary Hobbs and lover Phil Mitchell, and sailed off into the sunset from the role, as her character was leaving the series. The actress was swamped with fans at the Navan venue on Friday night, and even donned a Meath jersey on the night to send temperatures soaring amongst the hundreds of football fans at the club. She also signed the Menolly jersey and wished the Meath lads, also regulars at the club, the best of luck in their All-Ireland semi-final. Tointon arrived at the club shortly after 12.30pm and proceeded to sign autographs and have photographs taken with fans for over an hour, before she got behind the club bar and served drinks to customers. The starlet also did an interview for TV3's 'Xpose' entertainment programme. Darren Kavanagh of the Palace Nightclub said Tointon was one of the nicest celebrities that had ever visited the club, and had time for everybody.
