Slane gig for energetic Hogan

Pop/rock act Hogan is playing in Boyle's of Slane tomorrow (Thursday) night, 3rd September. Hogan is lead by front man and guitarist Mark Hogan, backed up on guitar by Wayne Brereton, on bass guitar by Johnny Westman and drummer Ronan Nolan. The Westmeath-based group is fast making a name for themselves for their energetic live set, which critics are hailing as "not to be missed." Hogan has just signed an endorsement deal with Lakewood guitars and new single 'Jealousy' has been receiving significant support from national press and radio, including studio invitations from FM104's 'The Strawberry Alarm Clock', to comedians and radio presenters Tommy Tiernan and Hector inviting them onto their radio show on iRadio. RTE 2FM DJ Larry Gogan has also been showing his support. Their last single 'Miss You', written for a close friend who tragically died in a car accident, launched them into the Top 40 Irish charts, which is a high achievement for all involved, considering they are an independent band in the Irish music industry. 'Miss You' also featured on the playlist of 2FM. Their first single, 'Here I Go Again' was used on RTE television's hit children's show 'Aisling's Diary' and also Spanish TV show 'Extras'. Ian Dempsey's Today FM breakfast show selected it as a song of the week, and Hotpress awarded it song of the month. RTE DJ and TV presenter Dave Fanning also invited Mark onto his television show 'The Last Broadcast' to discuss his budding career. Hogan is known for their vast gigging all over the country, including some of Ireland's finest venues and festivals, Castlepalooza, Spraoi Fest, Whelan's, Vicar Street, The Sugar Club, Crawdaddy, The Village and the RDS. They have shared the stage with some of Irelands best bands including Delorentos, The Coronas, Republic of Loose, The Saw Doctors and The Blizzards. Hogan returned to the studio in May with internationally acclaimed producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Super Furry Animals) and laid down some more very impressive songs with the onset of releasing an album later in the year.
