Massive Navan residential planning application is lodged
A major residential, village centre and parkland planning application has been made for a 66-acre site on the outskirts of Navan by a local development company. The Ramparts Partnership has indicated its intention to seek permission for the major development at Athlumney, Ferganstown and Ballymacon, Navan, in one of the very few large-scale planning applications in the county in recent times. The proposed development consists of 193 residential units in the first phase, and 206 in the second phase. A third zone features a neighbourhood centre and a creche, while zone four contains flexible office units. The application relates to lands that stretch from the Boyne Road to the Kentstown Road outside Navan, also includes parkland of 9.75 acres with play areas, sports activity areas, soft landscape features and paved areas. The residential units vary from two-storey houses to 10-storey buildings containing apartments, and car parking spaces are also allowed for. The neighbourhood centre proposed features basement car parking, retail use, financial use, bistro use, leisure at ground floor level including mall entrance, residential entrance stairs, lifts, loading areas, car park entrance, management offices, toilets and waste management area and upper level car parking over with residential entrance stairs. Also included is a 200-place crèche with external play area and community resource centre with car parking spaces, landscaping, boundary treatments, signage, roads, footpaths, cycleways, a four-storey commercial office building over basement of flexible office suites complete with circulation areas and glazed entrance mall.
