Strictly ballroom at Knightsbrook
Meath's answer to 'Strictly Come Dancing' comes to Trim next February when a host of local celebrities will get getting their dancing shoes on for charity. Proceeds from the event, which takes place in Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim, on Saturday 6th February 2010, will go to the Mother of Peace Children's Home in Illovo, South Africa, and Meath Palliative Care Services. The event was launched at the Newgrange Hotel on Tuesday of last week when the line-up was revealed. Judges for the competition are singer Gloria, Pat Mullaney, Colm O'Rourke and Gus Callaghan. The male competitors include David Beggy, Graham Geraghty, Deputy Shane McEntee, Deputy Damien English, Fr Derek Darby, Cllr Willie Fay, Cllr Wayne Harding, Jimmy Maguire, Matthew Reilly, Gordon Weldon, Declan Maloney, Kenny Henry and Patrick Tuite. Lining out for the ladies are Emily Coldrick, Louise Marry, Mary and Mena Sheridan, Jill Tuite, Noreen Walshe, Sheila Slattery, Anne Myles, Bernadette Gavigan, Phylis Ward, Maire McTaggart, Siobhan McDonagh and Sinead Bellew. MC on the night will be Peader Farrelly and the competition will be followed by entertainment from The Supertones.
