Recent deaths 26-12-09
The regretted death occurred on 18th November last of Mr Anthony (Tony) Sheridan, Cavan Road, Kells, at his residence. Aged 70, he was a joinery manufacturer and a native of Corboggy, Moynalty. Deceased was a carpenter who set up a joinery business in partnership with his late brother in 1972. Following 32 years in business, he retired in 2005. Mr Sheridan was very involved in the local community where his contribution, easy going manner and sound advice was always welcomed. He was a past chairman of St Colmcille's National School Parents Council, and a member of the first board of management of Kells Community School. Deceased was also very involved in the local parish and was a collector and steward in St Colmcille's Church for over 20 years. Mr Sheridan had an interest in all sports, but particularly the GAA, and was a member of Gaeil Colmcille, representing the club at county board level for many years in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He will also be remembered as a dedicated and loving family man with special attributes of patience, kindness and his giving nature will never be forgotten by those with whom he came into contact. Deceased is survived by his wife, Lil; daughter, Maria Murphy; son, Trevor Sheridan; son-in-law, Dominic; daughter-in-law, Caitriona; grandsons, Conor, Cian, Eoin, Oisin, Keelan and Eanna; brothers, sister, in-laws; extended family and friends. The funeral took place from St Colmcille's Church to St Colmcille's Cemetery, Kells. _____________________________________________________________ Ian Walsh, Trim and Kilmessan There was widespread shock and sadness following the news of the sudden death of Mr Ian Walsh, Tower View, Trim, at the age of 40, on 10th December last. A native of Ennistown, Kilmessan, Mr Walsh was son of the late Michael and Rosemary Walsh. His sudden passing has shocked the whole community, especially his wife, Melanie (nee Quinn), and three children. Deceased was an outgoing, fun-loving man who enjoyed a game of cards every week. He was a member of Glebe Golf Club, Trim, and Kiltale Golf Society. Mr Walsh enjoyed rallying and all kinds of motorsport, and was also a fan of Arsenal Football Club. A factory employee, deceased is survived by his wife, Melanie; children, Naomi, Byron and Callum James; sisters, Barbara, Marie, Caroline, Claire and twin sister, Elaine; brother, Stephen; parents-in-law, Ronnie and Patsy; in-laws, nephews, nieces and a large circle of relatives and friends who will deeply miss him. The remains were removed from his residence to St Patrick's Church, Trim, were funeral Mass was celebrated prior to burial in St Loman's Cemetery. _____________________________________________________________ Christy Bradley, Longwood Much sadness was occasioned by the passing of Mr Christy Bradley Snr, Castlerickard, Longwood, at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, on 12th December last. A native of Castlerickard, Mr Bradley (84) is survived by his brothers John and Syl, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and great grand nieces. The removal took place to Longwood Church, where funeral Mass was celebrated prior to burial in Longwood Cemetery on 16th December. _____________________________________________________________ Michael Byrne, Longwood The regretted death occurred of Mr Michael (Mick) Byrne, Castlerickard, Longwood, on 6th December last at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan. A native of Castlerickard, Mr Byrne (88) was a dairy farmer and was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Peggy) in 1996. Deceased is survived by his son, Gary; daughter-in-law, Thelma; grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis McCormack, Mary Rafferty, Tess Dwyer, Liz Slevin and Ciss Hanley, other relatives, neighbours and friends. His remains were removed to the Church of the Assumption, Longwood, with burial taking place in Longwood Cemetery following a Funeral Mass there. A months memory Mass will take place at 12 noon on 17th January 2010 at the Church of the Assumption, Longwood.
