Death of Fr Séamus Dunican
The death has occurred suddenly of Fr Seamus Dunican, PP Rahan, former parish priest of Kiltale and Moynalvey. His funeral takes place on Wednesday 27th January at 12 noon in the Church of St Carthage, Killina. Fr Dunican died suddenly at his parochial house on Saturday 23rd January. A native of Ardcath, Co Meath, he was ordained in 1963 and initially served for brief periods in Navan and Rahan. The following year, he began his ministry in the Archdiocese of Westminster and, in 1970 - 1971, he attended Saint Mary's, Strawberry Hill. He taught at Saint Patrick's Classical School, Navan from September 1971 until his appointment as chaplain to the Forces at Gormanston in August 1981. He became Parish Priest of Moynalvey in September 1991 and, ten years later, he moved to Rahan. Removal of Fr Dunican's remains take place from the Parochial House, Rahan on Tuesday evening 26th January at 6.30pm to the Church of Saint Carthage, Killina where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12 noon by Bishop Michael Smith.
