Widespread sadness was caused by the death of Mrs Eileen Conlon, Claremont Estate, Navan, on 28th January last. Aged 75, Mrs Conlon, who passed away at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, was a member of the Dunphy family of O'Growney Terrace, Navan. She was predeceased in 1974 by her husband, Thomas; and also by her brother, Patrick Dunphy, St Bridget's Villas, Navan; and sister, Olive Hoskins, Boyerstown, Navan. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Cahill, Bective, and Helen Smith, Ryefield, Virginia; son, Thomas, Newbridge, Kildare; brother, Francie, Parnell Park, Navan; sisters, Gertie Rennicks, Dean Cogan Place, Navan, Pauline Gilbride, O'Growney Terrace, Navan and Phyllis Farnan, Slough, England; sons-in-law, Jerry Cahill and Declan Smith; daughter-in-law, Kathleen; grandchildren, Jason and Gerard Cahill, Robert and Katie Smith and Thomas, David and Amy Conlon and great grandson, David; brothers-in-law, Paddy Farnan, England, Bernie Gilbride, Navan, Pat Conlon, Tribley and Steve Conlon, England; sisters-in-law, Ettie Dunphy and Kate Dunphy, both Navan; nephews, nieces, close friends Linda Farrelly and Rosemary Weldon, both Claremont; relatives and friends. The funeral took place from St Mary's Church to St Mary's Cemetery, Navan. A month's memory Mass will take place on Sunday 7th March at 11am in St Mary's Church. _____________________________________________________________ Jim Healy, Trim The regretted death recently occurred on 27th January at Knightsbridge Nursing Home, Trim, of Mr Jim Healy, Castleabbey, Trim. A native of County Sligo, Mr Healy (91) worked for the Office of Public Works (OPW) in Trim for many years prior to his retirement. Deceased is survived by his wife, Tenie; daughters, sons, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law and other relatives. His remains were removed to St Patrick's Church, Trim, on 28th January and burial took place after funeral Mass there to St Loman's Cemetery, Trim, the following day. _____________________________________________________________ Kay McCafferty, Kells Mrs Kay McCafferty, Hermitage Glen, Kells, who passed away on 20th January last, was well known in the town and beyond as her husband Danny was proprietor of Danny's Pub, Newmarket Street, for about 27 years. Aged 73, Mrs McCafferty was a member of the Bracken family of Kilcloon and the couple moved to Kells from England in 1973. She resided in the care of the staff of St Joseph's Hospital, Trim, for five years, and passed away at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan. Deceased is survived by her husband, Danny; son, Daniel, Caltra, Ballinasloe, Co Galway; daughters, Gráinne Clarke, Broseley, Shropshire, England; Theresa Murphy, Kilcarn Court, Navan; sister, Peg Morrison, Sheffield, England; grandchildren, Michael, Conor and Liam Murphy and Colin McCafferty. The funeral took place from St Colmcille's Church, Kells, to St Colmcille's Cemetery. _____________________________________________________________ Monica Kerins, Balrath The passing of Mrs Monica Kerins, Sicily, Balrath, Navan, at her home on 9th January last, caused widespread sadness. Aged 59 years, she faced her illness with great courage and faith, and was an inspiration to all her family and friends as a very proud and independent woman. Deceased took pride in her family, her home and her work at Loreto Day Care Centre, Navan. Mrs Kerins enjoyed life and lived it to the full, and had a great interest in people, always having time for a chat. She was well respected and her opinion was valued for the sincere and genuine person that she was. Mrs Kerins is survived by her husband, Pat; son, David; daughters, Siobhan and Claire; mother, Rose Anne Fox; son-in-law, Niall; grandchildren, Eva and Tadhg; brothers, James, Michael and Padraig; sisters, Frances Dunne and Bridget Hession; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Sonny Fox. The funeral took place from the Church of the Assumption, Kentstown, to the adjoining cemetery. A large gathering of friends and neighbours attended the funeral, whose support was greatly appreciated by the family. A month's memory Mass will take place in the Church of the Assumption, Kentstown, on Saturday 13th February at 6pm.
