Lucy Foster....winner alright.

Enfield's Lucy ahead in the Fairyhouse fashion stakes

Ireland's racing set and fashion trendsetters were out in force at Fairyhouse for the Irish Grand National on Easter Monday. The fashion and style stakes were high with ladies from around the country out in force to win the Carton House Most Stylish Lady competition in association with Powers Whiskey. The deserving winner was Lucy Foster from Enfield, a regular racegoer, whose mum is trainer Denise Foster. Lucy's boyfriend is Tipperary flat trainer Fozzy Stack. The Enfield woman wore a Jesire cashmere coat, a black headpiece by Whiteleys, a chunky black and gold belt from Crave boutique in Naas and black opaque tights and black patent shoes, and the outfit was finished off by a small Fendi bag. Lucy was presented with a prize worth €10,000 from Carton House, which includes a luxurious weekend in the famous Lady Emily suite, an indulgent day of pampering treatments at their Aveda Spa, one-to-one golf tuition, a round of golf and leisure memberships for two along with a €500 gift. IDL Pernod Ricard's senior brand manager, Suzanne Lawlor, presented Lucy with a cheque for €1,000 on behalf of Powers Whiskey and said: "We are very proud to sponsor this prestigious race as Powers Whiskey and the Irish Grand National partnership is the perfect synergy, given that both are icons of Irish heritage, tradition and quality." The guest judges for the Most Stylish Lady on the day were Báirbre Power, executive editor of the Irish Independent's Weekend magazine, TV3 presenter Colette Fitzpatrick and editor of Irish Tatler, Jessie Collins. The judges were looking for individual style with sophistication while still being appropriately dressed for the weather. Colette Fitzpatrick said: "This was my second year to judge the Best Dressed on Grand National day and I think the style was even better this year. The winner, Lucy Foster from Meath, was very elegant and wore an appropriate stylish racing outfit. She is a keen racegoer and was a popular winner on the day." Caroline Gray, manager of Fairyhouse, said: "It's been a fantastic day's racing and Easter Monday certainly attracted an enthusiastic crowd. With such a valuable prize for the Powers Whiskey Most Stylish Lady competition, the fashion stakes were high and we would like to congratulate the deserved winner, Lucy Foster, who's a local from Enfield and a keen racegoer."
