Local youth charity to benefit from Tattersalls horse trials
Youth group Ratoath Pulse has been chosen by Tattersalls Ireland as the main charity beneficiary for its horse trials weekend from 27th to 30th May at the Ratoath venue. The Tattersalls Festival, featuring the International Horse Trials, has been expanded this year to cater for non-equestrian visitors, particularly families, looking for a fun day out. Pulse chairperson, Laura Murphy, is delighted that Pulse is involved in such a prestigious event, saying: "I urge our families and young people of Ratoath to come visit Tattersalls to support this international amazing event on our very doorstep whilst supporting Pulse, a safe friendly space for the youth of Ratoath." Pulse founding member, TD Mary Wallace, has attended the Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Festival in previous years. "This is a great day out for families and is well worth attending while also supporting our local project, Pulse, who are doing trojan work to provide a safe place for our teenagers to chill out and socialise with their friends," she said. Tattersalls Ireland director and Ratoath resident, Roger Casey, added: "We are delighted to support a local and worthy cause this year and we hope that the Tattersalls Festival is a huge success for Pulse in 2010." Equestrian enthusiasts will be treated to a line-up of top international horses and riders in one of the most demanding sports in the world at the Tattersalls International Horse Trials in association with HSI, incorporating the HSBC FEI World Cup Eventing Qualifier. The Tattersalls Festival will include a festival village with crafts, shopping village and tasty local produce from Good Food Ireland as well as a host of activities for children and adults alike, from dog competitions and archery to face-painting and kids' games. Picnics and barbecues will be the order of the day. Spectators on Saturday 29th May will be able to watch the thrills and spills of cross-country day by booking a picnic site close up to the excitement of the water fence where the whole family can enjoy the action. Those who wish to relax with a glass of wine can still watch the action in a new Moscow Flyer Pavilion where three-course lunches will be served at reserved tables overlooking the arena, an ideal spot to view the excitement of the finale of the showjumping on Sunday 30th May.
